The mission of Brighton Elementary School is to provide the opportunity for students to learn, achieve, and succeed in a safe and caring environment.
We strive to provide materials that will stimulate growth in factual knowledge, literary appreciation, aesthetic values and ethical standards. In addition to this, we aim to provide materials representative of many of the varied religious, ethnic, and cultural groups and their contributions to our American heritage.
Our school library media specialist is Mrs. Christy DeLashmit. Mrs. Christy has been a teacher with Tipton County Schools since 1994. She holds a Masters degree in Instruction and Curriculum, is a Reading Specialist, and a Library Media Specialist. If you have any library/media questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Christy via email: [email protected] or by phone: 901-840-9512.
Throughout the year, students will engage in library lessons that will help develop skills for research, logic, media integration, internet safety, and using informational text. Special activities such as Book Fairs, guest speakers, and library centers are featured throughout the year to enrich the library media standards and language arts curriculum. There's always something fun going on in the BES Library!
